Spaghetti Warehouse – Dowtown Houston
I figured I would go ahead and post this up since it was to be a good story for the site but all plans fell through at the last minute. Thanks Channel 13 KTRK for screwing this one up for us. The story is of course unfinished, as it was to be finished after the actual hunt. Anyway, enjoy this lack of a story moment I guess.
Houston Paranormal Research Team (HPRT) was contacted by Mr. Martinez, the station manager at Channel 61 KZJL to investigate the Old Spaghetti Warehouse in downtown Houston for a live on air Halloween story. He has been in touch with Scott to schedule this whole thing and has been so excited to get this story that he setup and overnight stay at the building.
Map powered by MapPressThe Old Spaghetti Warehouse located at 901 Commerce St. is known as one of the hottest spots for paranormal activity not only in Houston, but the whole nation! I've read the building has been used for everything from fur trading to railroad storage and even the scene of mob crimes and murders(ref.?). The most common story goes something like this. The building used to be a pharmaceutical company in the early 1930's and that an employee(possibly owner) was working late one night and was carrying a box of paperwork to the elevator to go downstairs only to step into an empty elevator shaft falling to his death. The wife later becomes worried about her husband not being home yet and goes to the office to check on him, hoping to find him working hard into the night. She arrives and discovers groups of people around talking about a tragic accident then finding her husbands lifeless body in the elevator shaft. Some say exactly a year later the wife passes away and her spirit still haunts the building along with some spirits of children.
"There is activity happening daily, for example someone hears their name being called, yet no one is there," adds Sandra McMasters, the General Manager of Spaghetti Warehouse. "Often the elevator lights will flicker, objects move without any logical reason, and employees see a ghost like lady in a white gown throughout the restaurant all the time. It is also believed that many spirits are present due to the various antiques that adorn our restaurant. I am a believer!" - The Spaghetti WarehouseCustomers, employees, just about everyone else will tell you that something is in there. The second floor where the train car is located is considered to be the area of most sightings or happenings. The restroom is said to be the area where the elevator shaft was located and therefore the single most haunted area of the building. People have photographed orbs and ghostly figures, some have even been lucky to actually see odd phenomenons happen right in front of them such as Patti, who's shoelaces become untied frequently when she works upstairs, which is used only for special occasions. Other sightings such as plates and silverware rearranging themselves are among the most peculiar along with lights turning on during closing hours.
