New speed test with upgraded service

Though it technically still sucks, it's a hell of a lot better than the previous speeds I was getting.  It's not anything to brag about, but atleast now I don't feel like I'm on dial-up anymore   Anyway, just thought I'd share my happy story.  Happy 4th!

Just an update and upgrade

I've put in a request to have my rural wireless broadband service updated via TexasData.net and hopefully I'll be able to play Netflix movies online.  I'm hoping this thing will speed things up a bit and not feel like I'm using dial-up anymore in the modern age of broadband.  So, with the major improvement comes [...]

PEC interview date set!

I couldn't believe it! I called them back and the guy seemed really excited to talk to me(he was thrown off by the fact that my cell number wasn't working anymore, so I explained the change to a local number) and explained that there were in fact hundreds of applications submitted to them from folks [...]

Another PDF trick with a Mac!

So yesterday I spent the day looking for methods of adding a page to a PDF file and was amazed at how much easier it is on  a Mac than in Windows.  Here is the very simple, yet apparently daunting task for a Windows user(if you don't own Acrobat[not Reader, the full version ~ $280 [...]

So I got a job, yep, another one.

So here I am trying to find a normal job and I keep taking these projects from IT sourcing companies.  I can't complain, something is better than nothing!(repeat) The company is Global Resources based out of New Jersey.  They've got me lined with a one-off job in Fredericksburg, about 50 miles west of my location.  [...]

So I got a job, well kind of…

So this week I interviewed with a guy about a job with Fast-teks, a new franchise company based out of south Austin.  The job is very part time but I did get hired and something is better than nothing.  Hopefully it will turn out good and business will grow.  I originally found the job via [...]

Thoughts on Google Wave

Google Wave In mid 2009, Google developers announced a new communications technology know simply as Google Wave.  It connects more people and more content together in a sort of email but not email, semi-instant messenger type of fashion.  Though it is still in the beginning of its life, this program already shows some great potential and [...]
